O'Donnell is an exciting figurative artist who adds such detail to his work , the viewer could
almost reach out and touch! As an entirely self- taught artist, Stephen always was termed an artistic child.
He paints in an " Old Style" where his goal is not to paint the world around him. As Stephen writes, "The
goal is not to paint a tree to look like a tree, it is to make a painting of a tree."
Stephen's paintings of animals and birds are so beautiful and realistic, but it is the humor
that he adds to each piece which puts a smile on the viewer's face.
