With a background in interior design, Timothy Tew got his start in the art business while living in Paris. He founded Galerie Timothy Tew in Atlanta in 1987 to represent French painters. Today, TEW Galleries is a contemporary art gallery representing a group of international painters, photographers and sculptors; selected for their ability to enliven the historical concept of beauty by honing their craft. A love of both natural and idealized forms is always present in their skillful handling of color, line and design. Their work collectively represents a range of styles, from non-objective abstraction to figurative realism.

Since 1987 TEW Galleries has sold thousands of artworks. As a result, insurance evaluations have become a daily request. To absorb the time this takes TEW Galleries no longer does these for free. The charge is $75 for the first item and $50 per item thereafter. Certified appraisers will be charged $25 per item.
We cannot provide any valuations for artists no longer represented by TEW Galleries.
Since TEW Galleries’ primary mission is to represent artists we can only accept resale consignments on a highly selective basis. Please note that we only consider artworks by artists currently represented by the gallery. Other criteria for acceptance include current tastes, market conditions, and our ability to house and store artworks.
If an artwork is accepted commission fees will be charged.
If you are interested in our limited program of resales you can email Jules@tewgalleries.com. Be sure to include a good image of both the front and back with another photo of the label on the back of the piece. Also include the dimensions, inventory number and any information about the original sale. A copy of the original invoice is extremely helpful.
As an alternative option we encourage sellers to contact Ahlers & Ogletree, an Atlanta auction house on Miami Circle. http://www.aandoauctions.com/ Auction houses are invaluable for establishing the secondary market.
